1.45" Cast Tappets — Expanded Surface Area
The older 1.1" tappet leaves a small footprint on the lobe, and today’s low-zinc diesel oils punish that. Going up to 1.45" adds contact area and meaningfully improves lobe life on the same oil.

- Fit new tappets whenever the camshaft is changed
- Running a steel camshaft? Use the DLC-coated steel tappets instead
- Use a diesel oil with adequate zinc and phosphorus during break-in
