Unlike the factory crimped plastic end tanks, this design offers significantly improved heat resistance and handles turbo boost effortlessly. The PPE intercooler features a thick 2.75-inch cooler core – that’s 80% thicker than the factory 1.5-inch core. It features denser, louvered external cooling fins for improved cooling efficiency and heat transfer. The increased core size, combined with the cast aluminum end tanks, reduces flow restriction and results in easier engine breathing and less turbo stress.
