Raise injection pump flow and you raise the torsional and thrust load on the camshaft and everything it touches. A modified P7100 puts more into the thrust plate than the factory cast part was designed for. This bronze retainer replaces it and improves oil retention at the same time.
Engines running high-flow, high-thrust inline injection pumps — P7100, P8600 and Sigma — and any build where the camshaft is being replaced anyway.
1989–2018 Cummins 5.9L and 6.7L performance engines using high-thrust inline injection pumps. Verify pump and cam configuration.
